Our Club and Digital Photography...

The Lakeshore Camera Club began to experiment with digital photography in the spring of 2000. At that time, a "digital group" was created by members with an interest in exploring the new medium. By the beginning of the 2004/2005 season the popularity of digital photography had grown to the extent that the club dissolved its digital group, allowing film and digital photographers to compete in integrated competitions. As of 2006/2007 - the club's 50th anniversary season - the vast majority of members use digital cameras to capture their images, and the art of image printing is enjoying a boom in popularity.

While digital has become the capture medium of choice for many of today's photography enthusiasts, film photographers are still an important component of our membership. Film-captured images and darkroom-created prints are - and always will be - welcome at the Lakeshore Camera Club.

The Lakeshore Camera Club owns it own digital projector and laptop computer for use in competitions, as well as a CRT/LCD-compatible monitor calibration device. (Members can reserve this piece of equipment, by visiting the monitor calibration page in the LCC Forum section of this Web site.)
